A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth crown or bridge. Dental implants may be an option for people who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, an injury, or some other reason. Tooth implant also can be mentioned as an artificial tooth successor. This implant consist of 3 parts namely post (screw), abutment (connector between implant and crown) and crown. Post is a screw included into the bone, abutment is a stump included into the screw and lastly a crown is placed on top of the abutment.

Will it hurt?

Dental implant surgery has lesser discomfort than having several teeth removed. We use anesthetic as an option to eliminate any discomfort during the procedure. We also prescribe medications to control any discomfort or swelling that may occur after the procedure.
